The Scorpion Tank is a light tank manufactured by the British company Alvis Vehicles, purchased by Indonesia in the 1990s. Indonesia has approximately 100 Scorpion tanks (specifically the Scorpion-90 variant) operated by the Indonesian Army Cavalry Corps.

The following is a list of important missions that have been and are routinely carried out by the Tu-160 fleet: 

1. Combat Deployments Military Intervention in Syria (November 2015): This was the first combat debut in the history of the Tu-160. A Tu-160 squadron flew directly from a base in Russia to launch Kh-101 stand-off cruise missiles. These missiles successfully destroyed various strategic targets of militant groups, such as command centers and weapons depots in Idlib and Aleppo. 

Russia-Ukraine War: Russia began actively deploying its Tu-160 bomber fleet to launch waves of long-range cruise missiles. Intensive deployments were recorded in Russia's strategic counteroffensive to destroy military and energy infrastructure targets deep inside Ukraine. 

2. Long-Range Patrol Missions & Show of ForceArctic and North Sea Patrols: Tu-160 squadrons routinely conduct marathon flights in international neutral zones such as over the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and the Arctic region. These flights often last up to 16 hours non-stop with simulated mid-air refueling and escort by MiG-31 fighter jets. 

Transatlantic Flights to Venezuela (2008 & 2018): To assert its global influence, Russia once flew a pair of Tu-160s across the Atlantic Ocean to Venezuela. These long-range missions involved joint exercises in the Caribbean, right in the United States' backyard.

3. Aviation World Record-BreakingLongest Flight Record (2020): Two Tu-160 crew members set a world record for the longest non-stop flight for a supersonic bomber. They flew non-stop for 25 hours, covering more than 20,000 kilometers over international ocean before returning to base

Today's advanced military radars...

The most advanced military radars today are dominated by GaN (Gallium Nitride)-based Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology, which is capable of detecting small radar cross-section targets such as stealth aircraft and hypersonic missiles. Current leading systems include the AN/SPY-6 and AN/SPY-7 from the United States, the YLC-8B from China, and the S-400 Triumf (with the 91N6E radar) from Russia.

AN/SPY-6 (AMDR)

AN/SPY-6 (AMDR) - USA:

Manufacturer: Raytheon (RTX).

Advantages: High-power digital AESA radar for Arleigh Burke-class destroyers. Capable of tracking hundreds of air, ballistic, and surface targets simultaneously with sensitivity tens of times greater than legacy radars.

AN/SPY-7 

AN/SPY-7 (AESA S-band) - USA:

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin.

Advantages: Based on Gallium Nitride technology, originally derived from the Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) to detect intercontinental ballistic missiles and space objects with extreme accuracy. Used in the Aegis system on land and on frigates of several allied nations.

YLC-8B 3D

YLC-8B 3D (UHF Band) - China:

Manufacturer: Nanjing Research Institute.

Advantages: Specifically designed as a "stealth aircraft hunter" (such as the F-35 or B-2). Operates in the low-band UHF band to evade modern radar-absorbing materials, with a detection range of up to 700 km.


AN/TPY-2

AN/TPY-2 - USA:

Manufacturer: Raytheon.

Advantages: High-performance ground-based radar integrated with the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) ballistic missile defense system, capable of distinguishing between live warheads and decoys outside the atmosphere.

91N6E & 96L6E

91N6E & 96L6E (S-400/S-500 System) - Russia:

Manufacturer: Almaz-Antey.

Advantages: Combines long-range target acquisition and high-altitude tracking radars. Capable of tracking hundreds of targets within a radius of up to 600 km and simultaneously directing missiles at high-speed targets.

"Have you ever heard of the most horrific battle of World War II?"

For Japanese soldiers in February 1945, the Ramree Island Swamp was hell. Trapped in quicksand, surrounded by Allied forces, and surrounded by swamp predators. It was a war tragedy that was once considered the greatest animal attack disaster in history, before being corrected by modern science.


The Battle of Ramree Island lasted for approximately six weeks in early 1945, as part of the Allied Operation Matador to seize strategic air bases from the Japanese.

1. Initial Allied Landings (January 21, 1945)

Air and Sea Assault: Allied forces began the operation with a massive bombardment using the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth and RAF fighter jets to destroy Japanese coastal defenses.

Land Invasion: The 71st Indian Infantry Brigade landed on the northern tip of Ramree Island. Japanese troops from the 121st Infantry Regiment, led by Kancho Shigetone, put up fierce resistance but were outnumbered.


2. Capture of Kyaukpyu (January 22-25, 1945)

Port Capture: The Allies captured the important port city of Kyaukpyu in the north.

Retreat to the South: Under heavy Allied artillery pressure, the Japanese defense line was breached. Japanese troops began retreating south of the island toward the mangrove swamps inland.

3. Allied Encirclement and Blockade (Early February 1945)

Entrapment: British-Indian forces cut off Japanese escape routes on land, while the Allied Navy blockaded the waters using motor patrol boats (ML).

Trapped in the Mangrove Forest: Approximately 1,000 Japanese soldiers refused to surrender. They were forced into a 16-kilometer maze of mangrove swamps to cross a tributary to the main island of Burma (Myanmar).

4. A Terrifying Night in the Swamps (February 19, 1945)

Extreme Conditions: This night marked the culmination of the tragedy. Japanese soldiers were trapped chest-deep in mud, without clean water, and swarmed by malarial mosquitoes and flies.

Estuarine Crocodile Attack: The swamp was home to giant saltwater crocodiles. As Japanese soldiers attempted to cross in the dark, some were attacked by crocodiles. However, the greatest casualties that night were caused by Allied artillery fire, which continuously bombarded the swamp area indiscriminately.

This story was recorded by Guinness World Records as the "Worst Disaster Caused by an Animal/Crocodile Attack on Man" based on the memoirs of Canadian naturalist Bruce Stanley Wright. However, modern historians and herpetologists (reptiles) have clarified the facts.


Claims that 1,000 or 400 soldiers were eaten alive by crocodiles in a single night are considered biologically inaccurate, as the local crocodile population could not have sustained such a large feeding fest without disrupting the ecosystem.

Crocodile attacks did occur, but crocodiles were more likely scavengers, coming across the bodies of soldiers who had died in battle or due to the extreme conditions of the swamp. Historians estimate that only 10 to 15 people were killed by crocodiles while crossing the tidal river.

5. End of the Battle (February 22, 1945)

Partial Evacuation: Of the approximately 1,000 soldiers who entered the swamp, about 500 managed to escape from the island thanks to a secret rescue operation by small Japanese boats.

Surrender: Approximately 20 severely wounded and starving Japanese soldiers eventually surrendered and were taken prisoner by the Allies. The rest died in the swamp from battle wounds, dehydration, tropical diseases, drowning, and predator attacks.
