The Veran armored personnel carrier was developed by Canadian Streit Group. It was first revealed in 2013 during IDEX exhibition held in the Abu Dhabi.
It is claimed that this new armored personnel carrier provides protection against 14.5-mm armor-piercing rounds and artillery shell splinters. The Veran has a V-shaped hull and offers high level of protection against landmines and IED blasts. Vehicle withstands 10 kg TNT blast.
The Streit Veran is fitted with a remotely controlled weapon station, armed with a 12.7-mm machine gun. Alternatively it can be armed with a 7.62-mm machine gun or 40-mm automatic grenade launcher.
This armored personnel carrier accommodates up to 10 troops. Troops enter and leave the vehicle via rear doors or roof hatches.
The Streit Veran is powered by a Cummins turbocharged diesel engine, developing 400 hp. Engine is located at the front. The Veran has a 6x6 configuration. Vehicle is fitted with a central tyre inflation system. It seems that this APC is not amphibious.
